meet malia

Malia Pettit is a classically trained painter working between portraiture and still life. Based in Lafayette, Louisiana, her work is rooted in tradition and shaped by a sustained engagement with material, surface, and form.

She holds degrees in Art History from UCLA and in Fine Art (Painting) from Bucks New University in England.

A decade spent living and working in London refined her approach to painting, grounding her practice in close study of historical work while sharpening her sensitivity to contemporary image-making.

Her paintings are held in private and corporate collections internationally. Her practice includes both independent works and commissioned projects, ranging from intimate portraits to large-scale installations.
